Avenzor The Scientist

Ibn Zher (1072 - 1162)

Avenzor, Abu Marwan Abdel Malek Ibn Abi Alaa, was the son of one of the most well-known physicians at his time. Avenzor
learned the principles of medicine and pharmacy from his father.

- Avenzor dedicated his whole life to medicine sciences especially diagnostics and treatment.

- His book "Al Tayseer" was translated to Latin and printed in 1490.

- "Al Tayseer" was considered the most important medical reference in the European Schools of medicine till the end of the 17th century.

- Avenzor's most important researches and publications deeply touched on psoriasis, fistula, otitis media, rostrum, esophageal diseases, and the management of nephrolith.

- Avenzor is considered the most important physician to have lived and practiced medicine in his era, after Galinos
